Public Weight Loss
1 commentsDecided to start publicly logging my efforts to get in better shape. I figure it will help motivate me and keep better track of progress made (or not made). I’ll post pics of my weight and body fat percentage each week. My ideal goal over the next 2-3 months is to stay at the same weight (155-165) while gaining muscle and lowering body fat to 9-12%. Suggestions, tips, tricks, etc welcome in the comments!
iPhone Complaints
1 comments- No landscape mode for testing
- No MMS
- Poor battery life on 3g
- Poor reception in some areas (although I haven’t dropped a call yet)
- Camera quality is good, but lacks features such as digital zoom or macro focus (example in pic below)
Would I get rid of my iPhone though? Heck no!
What are your complaints?
Update (7/24/08): Seems that I am not receiving some text messages from friends on other networks (specifically T-Mobile and Verizon). The issue is intermittent but reproducible. I’ve had several friends send a series of back-to-back text messages to my iPhone, and it seems that I never receive about 1 in 5 texts! I ran the same test with a coworker that has an iPhone 3G but has been with AT&T for a long time and he received all incoming texts. This is really irritating and has me worried as I rely on text more than voice calls. Seems that other people are having similar issues, most being iPhone 3G customers that ported their cell numbers from other carriers. I called AT&T this morning and they said all provisioning and routing data for my phone is correct. They are going to call me tonight to follow-up. I’ll keep escalating the issue till it’s hopefully fixed and post back.
Update (7/25/08): Called Apple Tech Support this morning who patched me thru to a higher tier AT&T tech. The AT&T tech said they are experiencing network issues countrywide since the 16th of this month that could possible affect SMS issues being received by other carriers and they are still working on the issue with no ETA on when it will be completely resolved. I think I smell BS.

1 commentsLASIK - Best $3k I’ve ever spent
2 commentsWent in for Lasik corrective eye surgery on July 18th. The procedure was quick and pain-free. I was back to normal activity the next day with 20/15 vision! Hoping for 20/10 once everything is completely healed. Only downer is all the perscription eye drops I have to take for the next week, and my right eye has some broken blood vessels. But overall, totally worth it! Thanks to Barnett Dulaney Perkins Eye Center (www.goodeyes.com). I’m in the wrong line of work…
